Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum is located at Shukrawar Peth in Pune.Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum is dedicated to the memory of his only son, Raja, who died an untimely tragic death. Dr. D.G. Kelkar was affectionately called as ‘Kaka’ and he was a lover of art. For over 60 years he travelled all over the country, to far off villages and tribal settlements, to temples and palaces and folk fares and melas and collected objects that caught his fancy and represented the culture and art of that place. He was capable of finding beauty in everyday objects. Collections at Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum, Pune
The museum is spread over three-storey and house sculptures and artifacts that date back to the 14th century. There are also objects, artifacts and ornaments made of ivory, silver and gold, house hold objects, musical instruments etc. Today the museum holds over 20,000 objects of which 2,500 are on display.
Mastani Mahal: The Mastani Mahal situated on the same floor and is reminiscent of the romantic and heroic life of the Bajirao Peshawa the first and his beloved wife Mastani.
